WINNER of the Short Story category in our 2022 International Literary Prize: Ian Critchley

WINNER of the Short Story category in our 2022 Hammond House Publishing International Literary Prize, awarded by the University Centre Grimsby, is 'High Intensity Interval Training' by Ian Critchley from the UK.

Ian Critchley is a freelance writer, reviewer and editor. He has written for the Sunday Times, Times Literary Supplement and Literary Review on subjects such as creativity, genius, evolutionary biology, and pandas.

A graduate of Faber Academy’s ‘Writing a Novel’ course, he has published fiction in various anthologies and journals, including Neonlit: The Time Out Book of New Writing, volume 2 and The Mechanics Institute Review #15.

He has either won or been shortlisted for several competitions, including the HISSAC Short Story Prize, the H.G. Wells Short Story Competition and the Exeter Story Prize.

Winners and shortlisted entries in the short story, poetry and song lyrics categories will be published in the 2023 Hammond House anthologies to be launched at our annual Literary Festival on 22nd February 2023 at the University Centre Grimsby.
