Welcome to our new Hammond House member and author, Dr. Marcus Jones.
Marcus is a Chartered Marine Engineer with a Doctorate in Risk Management.
During 20 years in the Merchant Navy, and later as an international business executive, he has worked and travelled to over 100 countries; eagerly observing diverse communities, cultures, traditions, cuisines, essences, and beliefs. These experiences, often delicious, sometimes bizarre, and always riveting, form the basis of his writing.
He has completed two unpublished novels, and many of his short stories and poems have been highly commended and published in anthologies.
At least one of his work has been chosen for publication every month in 2021.
He was probably the first author to have both a short story, and a poem, selected for publication in The Hammond House 2020 ‘Survival’ competition.
He says, ‘None of it would be possible without my inspirational editor and wife, Sara, and my fabulous children, Rebekah, Morgan, and Zachary.’
