Meet the Winners | 2020 Screenplay Prize

The 2020 International Literary Prize attracted a record-number of entries from over 25 different countries around the world. Although the standard was incredibly high across the board, here are the three writers who's excellent screenplays captured the judges' imaginations.
Meet the winners of the 2020 Screenplay Prize:
3rd Place: Alexandra Fitzerman
Suppressed
Alex was born in 1999. She moved to England from Poland at eighteen to pursue her dream of acting and writing.
Since then she spends her days working as a carer for the elderly, where she learns the art of living and empathy.
In her free time she reads books and wanders around London.
2nd Place: Richard Layton
The Bouquet
Richard has been dabbling in creative writing for a fair few years without being loyal to any particular genre. He has had short stories published in various places over the years and is delighted that he can now add Hammond House to the list in both the short story and screenplay categories.
He particularly enjoys writing scripts for stage and screen and has had various things produced including winning entries in Pintsized Plays in both the UK and New Zealand. He has also been featured in the Sandalle Five and Ten competition in Neath and the Pomegranate Playwrights Festival in Chesterfield, having previously made his play writing debut there as a contributor to Chesterfield Tales for Tabs Productions.
He has had two full length plays produced on UK tours with Rumpus Theatre Company, adapted from original stories by Edgar Allan Poe and Joseph Sheridan Le Fanu.
1st Place: Bobby Calloway
Fallen
Bobby Calloway is originally from Hertfordshire but is now based in Wicklow, Ireland. Previously a professional wrestler for four years, he has now transitioned into writing and acting - which he has been doing since 2017. His first role in a feature film – a neo-noir thriller called Spears (directed by Gerard Lough) – is due for release in 2021. He is also working on a horror novel Young Blood, as well as a feature film Life on Pluto (which he will also star in) – to be directed by his best friend Greg Young.
