Meet the Winners | 2020 Poetry Prize

The 2020 International Literary Prize attracted a record-number of entries from over 25 different countries around the world. Although the standard was incredibly high across the board, here are the three writers who's excellent poetry captured the judges' imaginations.
Meet the winners of the 2020 Poetry Prize:
3rd Place: Mason Nunemaker
Dirt
Mason Nunemaker is a graduate of the University of Minnesota where he earned a B.A. in English, with an emphasis in poetry writing. As an undergraduate student, he was an officer of the U of M's slam poetry organisation and represented them twice at the College Unions Poetry Slam Invitational (CUPSI).
His work has been featured in The Tower, A Quiet Courage, Goliath Magazine, The Miscreant, the minnesota review, The Raven Review, and on the Indiefeed Performance Poetry Podcast. He also has poems forthcoming in three anthologies in 2021. He lives and writes in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
2nd Place: Tim Taylor
Remembrance Day
Tim Taylor lives in Meltham, West Yorkshire, UK with his wife Rosa and 14 guitars. He divides his time between writing, playing his guitars, walking up hills, and teaching ethics at the University of Leeds.
Tim came second in the Hammond House International poetry competition 2020, and has won, or been shortlisted in, several other competitions. His poems have appeared in various magazines (e.g. Acumen, Orbis, Pennine Platform, The Lake) and anthologies. His first collection, Sea Without a Shore, was published in June 2019 by Maytree Press. He has also had two novels, Zeus of Ithome and Revolution Day, published by Crooked Cat.
1st Place: Jean Cooper Moran
Walkabout
Jean is a retired science professional living in a small village in the wonderful Forest of Dean, in Gloucestershire. Studying the craft and writing fiction full time is a long-awaited fulfilment for her.
She loves story-telling, reflecting in her poetry, stories and plays, experiences of life and of work, the world of nature, the world of the city, and the fascinations of science and discovery.
