MEET THE JUDGES of our 2022 Hammond House Publishing International Literary Prize

Hugh Riches is one of the judges for our Short Story category in this year's Hammond House Publishing writing competition.

By choice, Hugh Riches has been a reporter and editor on newspapers and magazines in Hong Kong, the former Soviet Union and the UK, and on local television in East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire.

By accident, he has been a teacher in schools and colleges around the Humber. His published factual works include a history of Anglo-Indians and a guide to politics and trade in Azerbaijan. Some fiction is contained in the same works.

Hugh has been a Hammond House Publishing short story judge since the beginning of the competition.

"It is a joy", he says, "as the imagination, ambition and craftsmanship gets better every year; the competition reveals wonderful creativity from all over the world."

* The 2022 Hammond House Publishing International Literary Prize shortlisted entries will be announced on our website on 4th December 2022 and winners announced on 11th December 2022 on Billboard TV.
