MEET THE JUDGES of our 2022 Hammond House Publishing International Literary Prize

Caroline Johnstone is one of the judges of our songwriting category in this year's competition.

Caroline Johnstone grew up in Northern Ireland and made Scotland her home since 1994. She is a poet and author. In 2019, she won the Waterways Storymaking Festival, the Beyond Borders Round III and the Imprint Writing Award.

Her books are on how journaling supports wellbeing and happiness and her poems focus on social justice, peace, nature, women and wellbeing. Her poems have been turned into art, posters and songs, one of them winning the Hammond House Publishing Songwriting Award in the 2021 International Literary Prize.

Caroline was delighted to be a judge for the 2022 competition.

Next year, she will have two poetry books published - one is a collaboration with fellow poet Karen Mooney by Hedgehog Press and the other by Red Squirrel Press.

Commenting on the judging process, Caroline told us: "I think there was an interesting mix of entries and genres, one I found to be extremely engaging and two that were both memorable and meaningful."

* The 2022 Hammond House Publishing International Literary Prize shortlisted entries will be announced on our website on 4th December 2022 and winners announced on 11th December 2022 on Billboard TV.
