Exciting news!
One of our judges for this year's 2022 Hammond House Publishing International Literary Prize - Dagne Forrest - is going to be featured in a new podcast about poetry with Painted Bride Quarterly.
Dagne Forrest is a Canadian poet who came to poetry in midlife after her children were grown and she'd spent twenty-five years working first in the philanthropic sector, and then in marketing and website development in a company she runs with her husband. She continues to attempt to balance writing with full time work, involvement in her community, and exploring the topics that invariably inform her writing.
Dagne won our Poetry category in our 2021 Hammond House Publishing International Literary Prize with her poem 'Summer Lightning'.
Dagne's poetry has appeared in journals in Canada, the US, Australia, and the UK. In 2021 she was one of 15 poets featured in the League of Canadian Poets' annual Poem in Your Pocket campaign and had a poem shortlisted for the Bridport Prize. Her creative nonfiction has appeared in Paper Dragon and Sky Island Journal. Learn more at www.dagneforrest.com
