Congratulations to Matt Wixey - Winner in our Songwriting category and 2nd place in our Short Story category in our 2021 Hammond House Publishing International Literary Prize


Matt's song 'Garage Days' won 1st place in the Songwriting Lyrics category and his short story 'Foulness Point' won 2nd place in the Short Story category. He also had two further shortlisted entries.


Prizes will be awarded at our annual literary festival to be held on 9th February 2022 - the theme for our 2022 International Literary Prize will also be announced.


Matt Wixey is a writer from London. In 2020, he was longlisted for Channel 4’s 4Screenwriting scheme and selected for the London Library Emerging Writers Programme.


In 2021 Matt's debut full-length play, Stray Dogs, was produced at the Brighton Fringe and the Bread and Roses Theatre. He's had several short stories published in anthologies, most recently Dead Keys (Loose Dog Press, 2021), and short plays performed at fringe theatres and online since 2019.


He is a previous winner of the Hammond House Publishing International Literary Prize (short story and screenwriting categories). Matt enjoys writing horror and dark comedy. When not writing, he works in cyber security, studies for a part-time PhD, and collects typewriters.
